Free-space realization of tunable pin-like optical vortex beams

چکیده
We demonstrate, both analytically and experimentally, free-space pin-like optical vortex beams (POVBs).Such angular-momentum-carrying feature tunable peak intensity undergo robust anti-diffracting propagation, realized by judiciously modulating the amplitude phase profile of a standard laser beam. Specifically, they are generated superimposing radially-symmetric power-law on helical structure, which allows inclusion an orbital angular momentum term to POVBs. During propagation in free-space, these POVBs initially exhibit autofocusing dynamics, subsequently, their patterns morph into high-order Bessel-like characterized hollow-core annular main-lobe with constant or width during propagation. In contrast numerous previous endeavors Bessel beams, our work represents first demonstration long-distance generation 'pins', evolution controlled impressed structure. Both Poynting vectors radiation forces associated also numerically analyzed, revealing novel properties that may be useful for wide range applications.

Divergence of optical vortex beams.
We show, both theoretically and experimentally, that the propagation of optical vortices in free space can be analyzed by using the width [w(z)] of the host Gaussian beam and the inner and outer radii of the vortex beam at the source plane (z=0) as defined in [Opt. Lett.39, 4364 (2014)10.1364/OL.39.004364OPLEDP0146-9592]. We also studied the divergence of vortex beams, considered as the rate of...
متن کاملDiffraction-free pulsed optical beams via space-time correlations.
Diffraction places a fundamental limitation on the distance an optical beam propagates before its size increases and spatial details blur. We show here that imposing a judicious correlation between spatial and spectral degrees of freedom of a pulsed beam can render its transverse spatial profile independent of location along the propagation axis, thereby arresting the spread of the time-average...
متن کاملExcitation of Multipole Plasmons by Optical Vortex Beams
Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) has been shown to exhibit a strong potential for nanoscale electromagnetic field manipulation beyond the diffraction limit. Particularly dark mode plasmons circumvent radiation loss and store the energy long in time, which raise the prospect of interesting plasmonics applications, for example biochemical sensing and nanoscale lasing. Here we theoretica...
متن کاملGeneration of optical vortex beams by nonlinear wave mixing.
It is shown that optical vortex beams can be generated from a non-vortex fundamental beam by an optical frequency conversion process taking place within a twisted nonlinear photonic crystal. This is done without any first-order (linear) refractive optics. Through such a proposed structure, all-optical switching of vortices with different helicities is made possible, as well as the simultaneous ...
متن کاملIncremental adaptive networks implemented by free space optical (FSO) communication
The aim of this paper is to fully analyze the effects of free space optical (FSO) communication links on the estimation performance of the adaptive incremental networks. The FSO links in this paper are described with two turbulence models namely the Log-normal and Gamma-Gamma distributions. In order to investigate the impact of these models we produced the link coefficients using these distribu...
